I’ve had a very up/down relationship with the AVN trade show in Las Vegas each January over the years. My first visit annoyed me, when taking our new VHS releases, in 1998, I had to explain to distributors what the internet was, and how popular we were already by the content we were showing online. I was met by derison, and told ‘It will never last’ before being offered a pitiful amount for them to take our titles. I rejected them all, and left the show irritated at the rudeness and short-sight of these so called professionals, all of whom ended up our of business only a few years later.
I’ve had good experiences at the shows, and done some great business – and some so-so experiences, usually with giant egos, or people thinking they’re something special. Until 2025, it had been over a decade since we had a booth at AVN, as the spiraling costs having to deal with Las Vegas unions, and the gouging of the event space just made the costs vs rewards untenable so it was with trepidation that I decided to take AJ from Elevated X up on his offer; they were able to co-rent a space to us.
I was more than impressed when I saw the finished space, and it’s location. A large GROOBY back wall dominating for anyone entering the hall, and although we learned a little from some of our design mistakes, over all the floor was excellent, and throughout the three days, we had a lot of visitors come by just to say hi, or get photos with the girls, or meet with us for business discussions.
2026 – we’ve already booked our space with Elevated X again, and added a new space for Blue.xxx. We’re excited to make some changes to the Grooby booth, with an improved photo wall, so all signing models can have a space for their fans to get a photo with them. Any booth is only as good as the models working in it – and some models have that confidence and charisma to talk to people in public settings, to flirt, to sign photos and too take fan photos – so we’re going to want to only bring girls that can bring that energy to the booths, and represent themselves and GroobyGirls well. The best girls last year made some nice money in photos with fans, signings and tips last year – and we’re happy to provide the platform to those girls to do this. It’s fun, it’s tiring, it’s exciting and it’s the one of the only safe and legitimate opportunities for the fans to meet the models. We had no issues at all in 2025, but AVN had good security and we always have our staff around the booth, just in case. We look forward to announcing the signing schedule of models appearing closer to the date, but for now – save the date and we’ll see you at AVN Las Vegas Jan 21st-24th 2026.
